Lester was born in South Africa.  After finishing school in the late 80’s he completed two years military service where he was in the Anti-Aircraft Regiment.
One of his first careers was in the marine industry supplying yacht builders with equipment from winches to sails and everything in between.
He worked at Lodges on Lake Malawi in Africa’s Great Rift Valley and on the beautiful coastline of Mozambique before returning to Johannesburg where he worked in sales and management for the biggest marine equipment distributor in Southern Africa.  Lester started his career in Real Estate while still in Johannesburg and partnered in a Brokerage.
 
In 2008, Lester emigrated to Canada, landing in Muskoka with his daughter, Acacia, and previous partner.  It took a little bit of time to adapt to a new culture, but he was happy to become a Canadian citizen in 2013 and makes his home in Bracebridge where he enjoys everything that Muskoka has to offer. 
He frequents the Nordic ski trails, local downhill ski slopes and snowshoe trails in winter.  In summer he pursues his passions of swimming and sailing in the lakes and rivers of Muskoka and Georgian Bay.  Lester was a competitive sailor until he emigrated to Canada and loves to introduce people to the sport of sailing.
Recently, Lester has taken up kiteboarding as this is a sport he can enjoy through all seasons anywhere in the world, ​he is also a member of a local golf course where he enjoys a round with friends.
Every other year he travels to South Africa to visit his mom who lives in the beautiful coastal town of Plettenburg Bay.
